Meet I Support the Girls
Through an international network of Affiliates, I Support the Girls (ISTG) collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women and folx experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity.
One population ISTG has supported since the beginning is survivors of domestic violence. Unfortunately, COVID has made their situations even worse. Did you know that ZERO domestic violence shelters list menstrual hygiene products on their recommended packing lists for people fleeing their abusers? That's where I Support the Girls is stepping in.
This October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, ISTG launched the D.A.S.H. Kit Program, which will provide a box of essential items for folks who have escaped domestic violence situations.

About International Day of the Girl
In 2011 the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare October 11 as the International Day of the Girl, to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world. The International Day of the Girl focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
